The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier-I Examination Result 2025. The Tier-I examination was conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode from 12 September 2025 to 26 September 2025. In addition, a re-examination was held on 14 October 2025 for candidates affected during the earlier exam schedule.
Based on candidates’ performance in the Tier-I exam, SSC has shortlisted eligible candidates to appear for the SSC CGL Tier-II Examination 2025.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Result 2025: Selection and Shortlisting Method
After evaluating the Tier-I answer sheets, the Commission shortlisted candidates category-wise for the next stage of the recruitment process. Separate cut-off marks have been fixed for different posts under SSC CGL.
The shortlisted candidates have been divided into the following groups:
- List-1: Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)
- List-2: Statistical Investigator (SI) Grade-II
- List-3: All other posts except JSO and SI Grade-II
Only candidates who meet the respective cut-off criteria have been allowed to move forward to Tier-II.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Marks Normalization Process
As the SSC CGL Tier-I examination was held in multiple shifts, the difficulty level of question papers varied from shift to shift. To ensure fairness, SSC adopted a normalization process.
Under this process:
- Raw marks obtained by candidates were converted into normalized scores
- Normalized marks were used to prepare the merit list
- These scores determined Tier-II eligibility and cut-off marks
The normalization was carried out strictly as per the methodology published by SSC on its official website.
Minimum Qualifying Marks in SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2025
According to the official SSC CGL notification, the minimum qualifying marks for Tier-I are as follows:
- Unreserved (UR): 30%
- OBC / EWS: 25%
- SC / ST / PwD and other categories: 20%
Candidates must note that meeting the minimum qualifying percentage does not guarantee selection, as final shortlisting depends on overall cut-off marks.
